Underworld (2003) Cast Then vs Now (2026) 🩸 A War Hidden in the Shadows

Before cinematic universes dominated the screen and vampires sparkled in daylight, there was Underworld (2003) — dark, stylish, and unapologetically fierce.

When it stormed into theaters, it didn’t just tell a monster story… it unveiled a centuries-old war raging beneath the modern world. Gothic cityscapes soaked in blue light. Secret covens moving through underground tunnels. Ancient rivalries between Vampires and Lycans exploding in slow-motion gunfire and silver bullets.

At the heart of it all stood Selene — a death dealer with ice in her veins and questions in her soul. Kate Beckinsale transformed the leather-clad warrior into something more than an action icon. Behind the precision and poise was grief, loyalty, and a growing doubt about the truths she had been taught to protect. Opposite her, Scott Speedman’s Michael Corvin became the unwilling bridge between two immortal enemies, carrying a destiny neither side fully understood.

The film’s pulse wasn’t just in its battles — it lived in betrayal, forbidden alliances, and the haunting realization that history is often written by those in power. With its sleek aesthetic, metallic soundtrack, and operatic tone, Underworld carved out a distinct identity in early-2000s fantasy cinema. It was gritty yet elegant, brutal yet strangely romantic.

More than two decades later, the legacy of Underworld still lingers in the shadows. The characters who once ruled the night have evolved, just like the actors who brought them to life.

Now, in 2026, we look back at the cast of Underworld (2003) — then and now — revisiting the faces behind the fangs and reflecting on how time has reshaped their journeys.

    2. Jazmin and rhona played the same charactor called sonja. Jazmin played the younger version and rhona was the grown adult version.
Should have put them both separate instead you combined them.

    3. Jazmin Dammak was the original Sonja and appears in Michael’s vision of Lucian’s memory of Sonja’s death in the first film. Rhona Mitra played Sonja in the prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycan. After the release of the prequel, Jazmin Dammak was later replaced with Rhona Mitra in Michael’s vision of Lucian’s memory. Now given the ‘George Lucas’ treatment and ‘updated’, but sadly erasing Jazmin Dammak’s performance of Sonja’s death in the first film.
