This seems to be from Better Call Saul season 4 episode 1 "Smoke", the character identifying himself as a security consultant is Mike Ehrmantraut portrayed by Jonathan Banks.
Everything he said made sense which would have made me call bullshit. Until he said "loading equipment being driven at unsafe speeds" now that is something only a higher up asshole would say.
I hate when shows do this. In order to show a main character's skills he has to show how incompetent everyone else is. I've been in security for 15 years and I can spot mistakes but its usually something obscure that really only someone with experience can spot not just levels of incompetence that you wonder how a person even has their job. Yes, blind spots with cameras happen but not when it comes to inventory. The belts make sense at least but some nobody just able to walk around with somebody else's badge is nuts. Just takes me out of the scene seeing stuff like that when the show has shown how tight the writing can be.
this is philips, the guy, i mean…. I worked there for a short year, those guys are all; you need to do this follow that certain rule… do this and that and now you can go to work, if you fuck up when every rule is applied, it's on you, but, you can't fuck up then anymore… it's just not possible.
The only unrealistic thing is how calmly and slowly everyone is moving. Every warehouse job I've ever had, if you stop moving for a second to wipe the sweat out of your eyes, they write you up for taking an unauthorized break.
I worked in a warehouse with a small crew. I shit you not, we put a pallet on a forklift, I stood on it and held on and they lifted me like 30 feet in the air so I could fix a lightbulb. Insane. I was like 21 so I guess you don't really think about danger. I'm 25, not much older but god damn I'd never do that now
Mike and frank were the two most gangsters dude in the whole series Walter messed up a great thing dude was getting paid if he would have just went with the flow dude would have been set and never got caught he would have achieved his goal of setting up his family for life without all the fallout
Remember guys, if you arent wearung the safety equipment, your lawsuit is fucked. Gear up, when somethibg goes wrong you can take them for what you deserve
Whenever I've had to train people I always make sure they know exactly what can happen if they decide to not wear PPE. I use myself as an example more often than not, like how my shoulder is basically full of gravel from trying to lift heavy shit by myself too often, or the several burn and cut scars on my hands and wrists from not taking the extra 2 seconds to put on the right kind of gloves
As for driving forklifts too fast, I used to do that when I worked in a boat factory. I damned near flipped one once, and it scared the piss out of me. They weigh 12,000 pounds. I never, ever did it again!
