She’s been up to a lot of awful stuff near the beginning of her career but what I possibly hate the most that allowed her to mostly get away with things, her acting innocent. Infantilize yourself, never take any accountability ever, deflect blame onto someone else or bring up an unrelated struggle as a distraction, act like a girls girl, that’s pretty much been her playbook to get away with everything and people bought it especially when they think her making catchy music they like makes up for it.

Yes she’s very talented and makes catchy music, but it’s bewilderingly stupid to act like that means that she’s given a past for disrespecting multiple cultures, treating black people as a prop/a mood board to copy and paste, have disregard for so many different people, allegedly cheat on multiple partners then paint them as the victim, chose to partake in multiple awful men betraying their partners, then cause hell for a new mother by being a part of her marriage falling apart.

The stuff with Lily Jay is some of the worst. She’s private but what can be seen of, she seems to be a great person. She seems to be lovely, she got a whole PhD and is officially a doctor, this woman literally spoke at the White House against sa, she seems to genuinely be kind hearted. She trusted her high school sweetheart Ethan, had his child, went through life threatening complications shortly after, moved across the sea to a different country just to support Ethan, was friendly with his costars including Ariana, allegedly let Ariana hold her child, and what does she get? Out of nowhere he wants to separate from her and she seemingly was blind sided by news shortly afterwards that he was with Ariana. For Ariana to allegedly double date hang out with Lilly, apparently hold her child, and apparently tell her that she would love to have a family like that too, that’s a different kind of cruelty in my eyes. And Lilly has expressed that the news breaking between her, Ethan, and Ariana negatively affected her professional life being a psychologist for women going through struggles being a mother (btw it’s messed up that her work is mostly centered around supporting other women through marital and motherhood issues then her marriage and family life were messed up) and it’s been a struggle seeing a reminder of the messiness of the end of her marriage with Wicked being heavily promoted everywhere. And I can’t imagine if Ariana’s fans that have been saying horrible things about her and her child like “f Lilly and that baby” have managed to have Lilly see that horrible stuff. Ethan and Ariana were so messed up for that but Ariana’s specifically messed up for allegedly causing so much harm for a new mother that almost passed from complications from giving birth to the man that cheated on her. But Ariana trying to hard to infantilize herself, seem like she could do no wrong, and mischaracterize the criticism of her seemingly dealing with a married father as misogynistic hate that’s not accurate was a ridiculous attempt to deflect blame. The whole situation is so baffling that I can’t help but rant about how ridiculous it was.

But frankly, she should’ve gotten similar criticism long ago for treating black people as something to copy from instead of fellow human beings. Looking back and her obviously bad tans and using such a forced blaccent when she’s from I believe the suburbs of Florida is ridiculous. And her history of disregarding other women’s relationships has gone on longer than Ethan, it’s just the worst example. But she’s managed to get away with so much awful and ridiculous stuff yet kept reaching new peaks and being heavily praised as if she was absolutely perfect and did absolutely nothing wrong. But that was never true. Imo her pr team really went to work to help cover her image but there’s enough that came to light that people shouldn’t have looked over. Naya Rivera mentioning having issues with Big Sean and coming home to see “Schmariana Schmande” sitting on her just to find on through social media her engagement with Sean was over then Ariana going public with Sean shortly after will never get out of my head. Enough of her doing so many horrible things have slipped through the cracks yet everyone acted like she never did a single thing wrong and it’s ridiculous.

Ariana deserves criticism for so much of the terrible stuff she’s done and should accept accountability for once (I legitimately don’t remember a single time she admitted to doing something wrong without doing one of her pr tactics to clean her image). Especially when she’s in her early 30’s and should act like the grown adult that she is, still getting up to high school tactics is ridiculous
