I was never the audience for these shot for shot live action remakes, but I *really* don’t understand the point of making a ‘live action’ remake that uses so much CGI that it looks like an animated film. It’s like Who Framed Roger Rabbit in Hawaii with The Rock in a goofy wig.
Budget: 200+ million… Al’s on the roll, bro! 😀

When a man as nice as Weird Al comes for you, you have beefed it.
I think the thing that makes me bump up against this wig is a couple of things.
1. It is obviously a wig, since The Rock is bald.
2. It is not voluminous like Maui’s. They couldn’t get one of the excellent wig makers to make it more like the animated version. There are drag queens that could do it easily.
