As we all ignore the ongoing smear campaign I thought you might appreciate a primary source for her politics. There are a lot of videos and comments calling her a closet MAGA conservative and I’d like to counter with actual verifiable evidence.
To me this really feels like a hate campaign against her, to try and destroy her career
Thank you for this. I’m not trying to say she’s a perfect person or anything like that but it has been wild to see how excited folks have been to jump all over her and accuse her of being a terrible person at any given opportunity. It seems pretty cut-and-dry to me that she’s a woman who isn’t afraid to seem bitchy if it means standing up for herself and of course, that draws the ire of so many people with internalized misogyny.
Chappell Roan is a leftist — this is very different from liberalism. I see a lot of conflation of the terms when they’re not the same. Also, to think that people believe she’s a closet conservative just because she wouldn’t endorse Kamala and called out both democrats and republicans is laughable.
I enjoyed the memes and jokes about Jude Law’s cheating ass, but the psychosis that Chappell has induced in some people is just ???, like, were people waiting for something to drop so they could just act insane towards her?
I really like her.
Her interview with Miley Cyrus told me all I need to know. They are trying to destroy her just like every other openly queer artist.
This is what happens when a woman refuses to be accommodating and submissive and sickly sweet while men can go on with their lives being abusers, rapists, and pedos. And honestly even if Chappell gets a bit aggressive at times so what??? Why do women have to be so nice all the time?

I usually don’t like comparison arguments because we should hold people accountable for poor behavior regardless, but omfg. The amount of pure toxic vitriol women get for simply having unlikeable qualities baffles me considering the amount of men who are actual *evil menaces* to society who still somehow have careers and fans. We need to get a grip. All I’ve heard is her having some “bad takes” and “being rude to people”. Thank you for some sanity against this deranged hate campaign against her. Let’s save this level of anger for the awful people in the entertainment industry who deserve it.
Not everything is a smear campaign, sometimes it’s just the Streisand effect. Denying the connection to the security guard made things worse. Once you make a public claim, people are going to ‘receipt-check’ everything. The best move for everyone, fans included, is to drop it and move on. Continued engagement and posts like this only draw more unwanted attention to the situation. 🤷🏼♀️
Imagine if she just never said anything ever – never supported or didn’t support Kamala, spoke up about anything political, never spoke about boundaries, never engaged social media. People would question her silence but she would have immense aura.
Not saying she should, just saying. Celebs used to have more aura when we knew nothing about them and heard little from them.
Kind of like Zendaya has her aura from never doing non-movie interviews and Chalamet has lost all his aura as a “deep and profound acTOR” once he started opening his mouth.

I just saw a post from an account with 0 posts prior to today talking about how “they went to school with Chappell and she called people slurs”. People are eating it up at 15k likes already. I genuinely believe people involved with Epstein in her previous company are paying for posts to slander her.

I never thought I’d be someone who would want to ride so hard for a celebrity but I am actually getting a little upset seeing how hard people are trying to go to try and ruin this girl’s life for the crime of not performing pop stardom and femininity with enough softness to be palatable for them. Especially with all the other things we have to be scared and angry about right now.

The way the bodyguard incident wouldn’t have even been a blip in the news if Chappell were a straight man versus a lesbian woman…the double standard / misogyny is continuously exhausting.
Another thing that bothers me about this is that we scrutinize and attack Chappell when our energy would be better spent going after politicians, billionaires, and the real scum of this world. But no, let’s just attack musicians and actors because why not.

Why do we need a “primary source” on her politics? She literally told us that she’s farther to the left than the democratic party.
I may not like her, but I’ve still never doubted that she is who she claims to be politically. She’s had her moments that I think are valid to criticize her for, but she’s always been very outspoken about what she stands for.
If she didn’t truly align with those things I don’t think she’d ever speak up.
I feel like everyone is ignoring that she’s facing this smear campaign after she left her management for because they were implicated in the Epstein files. Also, just off of anecdotal observation, a LOT of the tweets dragging her are clearly bots. I take all these allegations and smearing with a grain of salt.

For me, multiple things can be true. Her music is good. Her politics are good. There is a very obvious and concerted effort to tear her down, slander her, and make her appear worse than she is. All of that said, I do think she probably is pretty annoying in real life, and she is seemingly ill-prepared for the level of fame she has reached. I do not think she appreciates that celebrity comes with certain sacrifices.

I can’t share more but one of my very close friends works directly with her. Even before the charade of news in recent weeks, I asked him about her reputation given I always see something negative (and I’m a fan!)
He said she has been incredible to work for and he chalks people’s distaste for her up to people that feel entitled to her (I’m paraphrasing). She likes to be a separate person than her famous persona. So when she’s working, she’s chappell. When she’s not, she’s just her normal self and tries to live as normal of a life as possible. This completely makes sense to me and I imagine majority of people would be the same way.
He said she treats her team very well and has never gotten negative feedback direct about her.
I will say, whatever is going on feels like a weird smear hate campaign. It’s baffling.
