Security guard confirms he wasn’t working for Chappell Roan and apologizes for behavior

the way i was downvoted for saying he was likely a third party security guard who just overstepped because noooooo people who work in luxury areas would never do that!!!! yes. yes they do.

not that it matters because the hate train has left the station and people will now mention this every time chappell comes up in conversation to say “doesn’t she hate kids and bullied one with her security? hate her!”

I hope he reached out to the mother. Making a child cry is never great.

I think it’s kind of wild he did all that and he wasn’t even Chappell’s security. Based on what I had read I never for a second believed he was her personal security.

He’s simultaneously done too little (he was in charge of Kim Kardashian’s security the night she was robbed) and too much (aggressively talked down to a mother and child, and left a kid crying). He really needs to rethink how he does security. He’s honestly lucky he still has salvaged a career after failing on the Kardashian front.

I’m just finding out that he was actually part of Sabrina’s team and he was the one who put handcuffs on the girl in Brazil for the Juno segment. He doesn’t deny what happened with the little girl and her mom but he said his interaction with the mother was “calm” even though that’s not what the mother described. If he was part of Sabrina’s team, why would he go to the girl’s mom and confront her about the girl glancing over at Chappell specifically while using Chappell’s language about harassment and boundaries? I have no bias against anyone involved but the story isn’t adding up

Everyone who was calling for her to be crucified will suddenly be bored of the conversation or swear it’s a conspiracy and the mother the will never recant in light of new information nor will that soccer player.

imo the mother was and is still doing too much.

i don’t trust her and her daughter’s version of events because the things about her come off as very attention seeking (not just this incident but…her entire life) and the daughter is an *eleven* year old. eleven year olds are not reliable narrators and obviously the mother isn’t either.

edit to add the father is also a weirdo who was doing too much as well for being the mouthpiece of his non-famous wife.

Huh. This just adds to my personal confusion.

It’s been a full week of this and the facts are out there but people will already have made up her mind. She didn’t see the kid, the bodyguard wasn’t hers, and she didn’t actually do anything except eat breakfast. No one’s gonna know that though, because the news cycle has turned onto something else so now the headline that will always be seen in people’s mind is that Chappell Roan made a little girl cry for no reason. You guys are being played for fools.

At this point it feels like people just decided they don’t like Chappell Roan and are working backwards from there. Most of the “proof” people bring up is her being short with paparazzi or obvious autograph chasers, not regular fans. I’ve had to see a single video or take of her being rude to anybody who wasn’t clearly instigating.

The whole thing has spiraled into death threats and a full blown pile-on over nothing. You don’t have to like Chappell Roan, but this is getting hard to watch.
I’m also pretty convinced that this whole thing is orchestrated because she is one of the only vocally supportive celebs of Palestine. It’s been interesting to watch all of you so-called progressives fall over yourselves trying to justify your hate for this woman because she dared not to bow at the feet of the Democratic Party. It’s especially sad to me because she has explained time and time again that she has fragile mental health and has been dealing with bipolar disorder, and none of this can help.

This has happened time and time again to celebrities who decide to have a backbone. We saw it happen with Brie Larson, Angelina Jolie, and Amber Heard, and nobody did anything.

Hey, so seems like everyone needs to chill tf out about CR. TBH I feel bad for this guard. He was doing his best and now it’s an international incident. With Chappell, I wish we could all remember her crying saying how quickly this has happened and how much that was scaring her…which to me really means something cause her PR isn’t great.

If you’re saying “seems a lot because [someone] thinks it’s true” is a bummer. None of us are perfect and unfortunately, the footy player who posted about a snub is probably most in the wrong. Though tbh, I think the public and the fucking mayor reacted in the most INSANE way.

There are a lot of users here who need to give apologies. Asap. They had a ball in the threads saying she did it without proof. Now that the assailant has come out and said it wasn’t her they’re pretty much quiet and in hiding

I feel like the mom and stepdad should both apologize to Chappell for their posts now that it’s obvious she had nothing to do with the situation. But of course they won’t. I feel bad for that little girl tbh. Her parents made this so much worse for her.

idk if it’s just me but i feel like people really love dog piling on pop girls. even when backlash/call out is warranted, too many people make it a way bigger deal than it originally was and call for their heads. I don’t even particularly like chappell, this is not the first time I found myself defending female artists I don’t care for because the public got so disproportionately vicious and hateful
