  1. How I felt the Barbie cafe in Houston was 2 years ago. Luckily my little sheltered pandemic toddler loved it bc she rarely got out but I was so annoyed lol

I’m shocked they didn’t just host this at one of the many giant faux dream houses on Airbnb or vrbo

America really said that we had to be no.1 for the laughing stock country. We really couldn’t handle the UK outdoing us in ridiculousness 😑

Sad. They probably didn’t have enough pre-sales and blew the budget on the venue.

i’m sure mattel had zero to do with the actual organisation of the event and simply licensed out their logos and trademarked product names. this event looks dire. i doubt mischief management will be given the privilege again

What is it with these companies putting on subpar events and charging tons of money to attend? We had Willie Wonka, the Bridgerton Ball fiasco, the romance book con that was a literal con, Dashcon, and now this. I feel bad for those paying so much money and getting barely anything in return.

  7. They could have made this a smaller space, thus reducing ticket prices, and instead of just photo space, hire a makeup artist to teach them the basics of colorful makeup. How to use blush, where to put glitter eyeshadow, how to match your lipstick to your outfit. Bring in a female teacher, nurse, or even female farmer or construction worker and have her wear a fun outfit and talk about how she stays true to herself and her interests while working a demanding job.

Give the kids more crafts. I do not see enough ribbon and glitter. I see no bedazzling tools. They need to leave with hands covered in pink paint and a bag so bedazzled they’ll never lose it again.

Lmao wth is this? And the fact that mattel themselves hosted such a fest and not a single barbie doll merch stand in sight tells me this was nothing but a cash grab.

This is weaker than any sorority recruitment setup I’ve ever seen. Even no frills.

Tickets should have been $15 for adults $10 for kids and venue should have been a hotel conference room with one of the partitions closed because wtf is this

I collect barbies and live in Florida so I was thinking about going and just spending the weekend. I am SO glad I didn’t purchase tickets, this looks absolutely awful

What would make any brand think they don’t need to paper the house in this economy?

This is the kind of thing a large shopping mall would have done *FOR FREE* as a promotion in the 80’s.

They would have set it up in the big open space they used for Santa’s Christmas village.

  14. This is honestly worse production than the Vacation Bible School I went to as a child
