Stephen Colbert revealed he’ll be writing the script for an upcoming ‘Lord of the Rings’ film after his upcoming departure from ‘The Late Show.’ In a March 24 Instagram post, the late-night talk show host revealed he is developing a new film tentatively titled ‘The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past,’ alongside franchise director Peter Jackson and longtime collaborators Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh. The project marks a major shift for Stephen, who will sign off from ‘The Late Show’ on May 21 following CBS’ decision to end the series after more than a decade. When man closes a door, God opens a bay window to bask in His glory. Stephen has received the third greatest gift at a time when he’s still youngish and full of life. On the other hand, I hoped he continue informing us with his impish style. I pray he realizes the public loves him and needs him. Hopefully he’ll do a podcast. 🤞
