Air India Launching New Policy to Monitor Cabin Crew’s Weight | E! News
Air India is making headlines amid reports about a new policy that could directly impact cabin crew pay based on Body Mass Index (BMI) readings. According to multiple outlets, the airline has introduced a Cabin Crew Health and Fitness Compliance Policy that evaluates employees using BMI ranges to determine whether they are medically fit to fly. Under the reported guidelines, a BMI between 18 and 24.9 is considered “normal “and acceptable for active duty. Crew members classified as “underweight” or “overweight” may still be allowed to fly—but only after clearing additional medical and functional evaluations. However, those who do not meet the required standards or fall into higher BMI categories could reportedly be removed from active flight rosters and placed on leave without pay. A BMI of 30 or above is reportedly considered unacceptable for flying duties under the current framework. Air India has stated that the policy is intended to promote awareness around maintaining a healthy lifestyle and is being used as a preparatory step before stricter fitness standards are introduced in the future. E! News has reached out to Air India for comment but has not yet received a response. Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1430346/air-india-weight-tracking-policy-for-cabin-crew

How stupid to announce that. Whats the purpose ??🤨🙄.. Most airlines hire slimmer healthy people in general anyway.
