‘Live’ Executive Producer Reacts to Howie Mandel’s Apology to Kelly Ripa | E! News
Howie Mandel is dealing with the fallout from his recent daytime TV visit. After the Deal or No Deal alum apologized for a tense on-air exchange with Kelly Ripa during his March 24 appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, the morning show’s executive producer Michael Gelman playfully weighed in on the situation. “During these divided times, one thing we can all agree upon is that you do look great,” Michael wrote in a comment on Howie’s March 29 Instagram post, before adding, “for your age.” Days earlier, Howie, 70, chastised Kelly, 55, for saying it “doesn’t make any sense” how well he is aging, even as her husband co-host Mark Consuelos tried to deescalate the conversation. However, he subsequently clarified that he didn’t mean for his comments to be taken earnestly. The ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge insisted that the quip was “not meant to offend,” he opted to address the matter out of respect for Kelly, “who in the past has been incredibly supportive.” Howie said in the online clip, “Not only have I been a guest on her show, but I have co-hosted with her and I’ve known her for years. He's old and should embrace living this long and feeling great. I'm old too but I'm not trying to deny it. We're not in our 20's, 30's, or 40's. Just enjoy your life and stop worrying if you look great.
