It was sort of the opposite for me. Whether or not I stayed up too late talking with a friend, I was still expected to get up early and do chores. Other people's houses specially when the dad of the house was either non-existent or work nights so the kids would go to bed whenever they wanted to oftentimes in the wee hours of the morning. By 2:00 in the morning I was just looking at everybody like can we please just go to sleep😂. And then I would be up at a reasonable time in the morning but they would often sleep till noon or later. So I would be up for 4 or 5 hours by then just wandering around by myself wondering what to do. So as I got older I just never wanted to go to anybody else's house even though I wasn't exactly happy at home
