His mom is also the coach of Notre Dame women’s basketball, which is a choice for him to then make anti-catholic remarks as well.
There’s been a couple of people that she has coached/played with who have said that they have no idea where he got these views (the anti-pride comments) from because it certainly wasn’t her.

So the general consensus seems to be that this guy is going through some type of religious psychosis- not a diagnosis and DEFINITELY not an excuse, just some further context. That being said, the ONLY reason the nba okayed this is because he’s been playing like garbage and they can use him as a scapegoat. This is the league that continues to promote and support abusers and pedophiles. Not an exaggeration. I love my team but NEVER give these men and their sports the benefit of the doubt.

His videos have been disturbing. No doctor, but it seems like he’s going to some kind of break down / psychosis.
In one video he spoke about past trauma, mentioned he was sexually abused as a child and said he never experienced love growing up.
The headlines aren’t doing the situation justice.
This dude got paid over $30m to shoot a basketball. Nobody was forcing him to go to pride parades. Or to wear a rainbow jersey. Or go to drag shows. This dude publicly trashed the organization that paid him $8m a year because they don’t hate gays like he does. That’s just another level of stupidity.
He’s now trying to go after Steph Curry as well in such a dumb way:
“That’s why you got Steph Curry and he’s not even surrendered and y’all believe he’s a Christian because he wrote Philippians 4:13. Y’all think he’s a Christian, but he’s cursing just like the world.”
What a smug, pompous and insufferable asshole.
I say this as a fellow Purdue grad and someone who works in sports media: he’s going through some major mental health crisis right now. Not a doctor and I won’t try to diagnose him, but he’s been posting non-stop for the last 2 days on insta, just wild video dumps and livestreams both on his feed and story. He’s been open in the past as someone who was abused as a child and this isn’t the first time he’s had issues like this.
That’s not to excuse anything he said — a lot of it was really disgusting and unacceptable. But there’s a lot more to it than what the headlines read. This isn’t an athlete who just made some offhanded homophobic comments. This is someone going through some sort of mental health crisis live on instagram saying a bunch of random and unhinged things, including some homophobic remarks thrown in there.
Again, not trying to dismiss the harm his statements cause or saying he has nothing to apologize for. But before everyone on the internet dogpiles him, he’s someone who needs real expert help right now. And I’m worried he’s not going to get it.

Religious people be fill with so much hate and judgments but for get Jesus was with the one the judge may he without sin cast the first stone and none of us is perfect so to have such a hateful stand but yet call yourself godlike is a contradiction
Jaden needs some mental health support. I hope he will get it; he has time to address that need now.
