At this point, maybe we don’t need enemies in the same alliance as us. It’s sadly time for something else, I guess. Other allies are worth it. US aren’t anymore.

The most generous reading of Trumps actions says that Putin cannot believe his luck with an imbecile elected to the White House. Over the last month Russia has had sanctions dropped on their oil, US weapons earmarked for Ukraine have diverted to the Middle East and now Trump is destabilising NATO.
Trump is always considering all kinds of things. Do it then boy, and quit yapping.
Which means we’re pulling out of NATO.
I’m sorry to say this, but others already consider US as a country that’s out of the alliance. We don’t think you’re an ally anymore.

Does he realizes that a lot of American bases are in countries because NATO agreements?. If he pulls from NATO he’s going to have to retire those bases.

A reminder: the mutual defense charter of NATO, article 5, has only ever been used ONCE.
By the United States in response to 9/11. NATO responded as it should and helped to support USA in conducting the war in the Middle East.
