K, so that's actually not the speed limit of light. The real speed limit, a constant known as c (the same c from e=mc2!), represents the speed of light in a vacuum (like space!). Light having different speeds in different mediums is why diffraction exists 😁
But how are we seeing the light cross the room? Is the room a perfect square and the light is hitting the camera at the same speed it is crossing the room left and right? If not then is the camera seeing the light faster than it's beam is traveling left and right, i.e. the one direction speed is faster than the return speed? See veritasium video on light speed.
