Hershey will use classic recipes for all Reese’s products starting next year, a change that comes after the grandson of Reese’s founder criticized the company for shifting to cheaper ingredients.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups have always been made with real milk chocolate or dark chocolate and peanut butter.

But a small portion of Hershey’s and Reese’s products, like mini Easter eggs, are now made with a coating that contains less chocolate.

Hershey said that in 2027, it will shift those products to “their classic milk chocolate and dark chocolate recipes.”

Well too bad for them I already found better options while they were self-sabotaging.

I’m sure something will change by 2027 anyway so this seems more like superficial damage control.

  2. Cool do Twix and Snickers next. Mass-market American “chocolate” candy has tasted like ass for years now.

Oh good. I tried a Reese’s yesterday for the first time in years and I thought I got a bad one or something. Nope, they’re just terrible now.

The candy bowl at work is filled with Reese’s and they are barely touched. Even the Hershey nuggets do better

  5. I can’t believe this dumb fucks cheaped out to make trash and thought nobody would notice…which we did, only to have it confirmed by that tweet.

Is this going to be a New Coke thing were a company ruins the “classic recipe” and will “bring back the original” the following year but instead of cane sugar it was high fructose corn syrup?

Taking this space to promote Wilbur Chocolate instead! Best PB cups I’ve ever had. The chocolate is sooo smooth.

  8. Guess sales dropped. Because they would not change back just because of complaints.

Since the peanut butter cups have been different for years, becoming way to sweet and no where near enough peanut butter, I’ll believe it when I taste it.
