Woah this looks incredible. My therapist and I were just talking about this book last week and he mentioned it being turned into a show. I didn’t realize it was coming at all, let alone so soon.

  3. Oh this looks like I will sob. I can’t believe it’s already about to premiere, I feel like they just announced it like last week

This was the book I read in school that made me fall in love with reading in a lifelong way.

No way! Did anyone else need to read and analyze this book in English class

It’s well acted, the visuals are great. It has a very obvious arthouse approach that I felt was to the detriment of the story and pace which is often more distracting than additive.

Saying that it was a good remake. Just not without fault.

It’s also a BBC show, not a Netflix original.

Fine, I’ll finally read the book I’ve been wanting to read anyway.

Ok I am sat!I read the book in middle school and I saw the 90’s version but with today’s advancements in filmography and the fact that this is a miniseries it will be more grounds to cover!

The way this book entirely reshaped our recesses after required reading…

Our teachers knew what they were doing when they timed it so closely to summer break as well.

  11. I hate this book so I won’t be tuning in but I know so many people who love it and are sooo excited for it so I hope it’s good!

I kind of wish it was in the hands of literally any other streaming platform/network because of Netflix’s track record lately. But they have given us some great shows too, specifically (very loose!) adaptations like Haunting of Hill House.

It should just be a tight limited series, the book isn’t super long – but that’s what I am worried about, they love to beat a dead horse and extend shows when they shouldn’t.

    It looks great though!
