  1. – While Netflix filed for an appeal, Spain and Germany have already filed identical challenges under the EU 1993 Directive.

    – This ruling sets a precedent : freedom to cancel isn’t freedom to agree. Telling customers “we’re rising prices, you can cancel if you don’t like it” is not consent under EU law.

    – This legal precedent may threaten every subscription service operating in the EU.
