What happens when you put Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour—the two Mirandas, as it were—in a room together? A wide-ranging conversation about fashion, family, friendship, and yes, the forthcoming sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada.” “In terms of Miranda, and coming back to that character 20 years later, I did think honestly about Anna, and tried to imagine what it was like to carry her responsibility and to be as interested in the world and curious as she must have to be,” Streep tells Greta Gerwig in Vogue’s May 2026 cover story. And what did Wintour do when she heard the rumours that “The Devil Wears Prada 2” was happening? She called Streep, of course. “I knew she would tell me if it was going to be all right,” Wintour says. “I trusted her implicitly.”

This is fun to see. But mannnn I remember the alleged behind the scenes black-listing and threats Anna had for everyone in the industry when the first movie came out

The fact that the original movie was based on a book about how toxic a boss Anna Wintour was and now Anna Wintour is literally promoting this movie because something something Miranda is actually a girlboss. Lol. It’s giving ‘more female drone pilots’ energy.

I know it’s a wig but Meryl has never looked chicer than in the Miranda wigs. They’re so perfect.

  4. If I can still effortlessly sit like Meryl is in photo 2 at age 76 I will be thrilled

  5. Slide 3 is how I’m trying to be with my good sis when we’re somewhere happy and cutting up.

Slide 5 is how sis and I look when we’re wondering, no what was said?? 👀

    😂

  6. That second pic is a really terrible awkward angle of Meryl Streep, it’s like she’s letting out a fart

This is cute but I do find it deeply weird that Miranda is now perceived as a girlboss to the point where we’re all chill with Anna Wintour.

What is going on in pic 2 with wintour? It’s so smoothed out.

She is 76, looks great for her age so I don’t see why they needed that level of editing.

I like how Anna seems to have fully come around to this now. I get the sense that she was very apprehensive at the time of the first film’s release.

I love that cover and how much space Meryl is taking.

    She looks phenomenal.

I love how even when they’re produced to look like mirrors of each other, Anna is dressed better and Meryl is showing greater emotional range.
