The rest of the industry is shady at Olivia because she steals CONSTANTLY. Not just one or two "similar" items or inspirations. Shes not unproblematic, she's lost multiple lawsuits for this and has built her whole career on it. She's only good because the artists she steals from are good. Sampling and omage are legal and normal, but they have to be credited and compensated accordingly.
They do that because she sampled Paramore and Taylor Swift in her very first album without permission – which is plagiarism. She chose to start her career that way and she'll always be reminded for that… Even when she's not plagiarizing anyone. That's why first impressions are so important.
