  1. A tale as old as time, she was ready for marriage and he wasn’t ready to commit

    I can’t say I’m that surprised.

He comes from one of THE premiere families in LA. Genuinely one of the most renowned lawyers.

So David has been around a lot of stuff and has likely seen and heard a lot of drama around marriage.

Obviously I dont know the man but if you told me he was scared off the idea of needing to be married due to money issues if a divorce ever happened(and wouldnt be shocked if family was in his ear about it too)…then it would be the least surprising thing I heard all decade.

Damn, I remember he brought her on the Safari and thought it was a done deal.

It was obvious his family was not a fan of Abby’s mom. She still has a lot of control over Abby and was talking about how she would continue living with/right next to to her after marriage. With David’s family’s money that means she would be getting a lifestyle upgrade.

Abby regularly says mean and judgmental things which has always given me the impression it’s something she hears at home. I think they were giving her a chance but if Abby can’t be independent from her mom I don’t blame David or his parents for not wanting the marriage.

The last video that was forced upon me of Abbey and David, Abbeys mom was pushing for an engagement and Abbeys face had the biggest cringe.

Not going to comment because I feel like they are the type that might read the comments.

I can imagine there are added complications when it comes to financial gaps with them acting as dependents. The reality is when your child cannot be fully supported by society without parental assistance, and one family has as much money as David’s, things can get messy and stressful pending parties.

As fucked as this is to suggest because I want to believe both parties (Abby and David) made their own adult decisions on their relationship, I can fully see David’s family wanting a pretty strict prenup or financial safeguard. And I can see Abby’s family pressuring her to pick David on finances alone, especially if there was concern about your child’s financial security when they’re living with a disability in this economy and timeline.

Hopefully I’m wrong and it was entirely their call to call it off.

[Anyway, Disney – I think it’s an easy win to throw Abby some promotion with her Disney-esque love song.](https://youtu.be/CpkEH6kX7MQ?si=gGhcMv5lwpMTGhEZ). Wish the best for them both.

Excuse me being parasocial but they were my favourite couple, I’ve been rooting for them forever. I hope they find happiness in the future

  9. From the beginning I thought they were very mismatched ability wise. Anyone else?

I had the sense that Abbey would have an easier ability to live independently. I got the feeling that marriage wasn’t even really something on the table for David. I wonder if cast members getting engaged has put pressure on them. It really shouldn’t.

I was so surprised they have been dating for 5 years. This will be a hard transition for them.

I was wondering why they weren’t featured much in the latest season, but assumed showrunners wanted to give newcomers more screentime.

I can’t help but think it’s just down to Abbey’s mother… not a lot of families would want to tie themselves to someone like that, let alone a very rich one. They were very sweet together but not given space to simply exist.

  12. Noooooo!😩😭 they were me and my daughters’ favorite couple. Aw I’m so bummed

they were some of my favorites on the show, and she is strikingly beautiful. being physically attractive and also significantly neurodivergent strikes me as a dangerous combo so I was always glad she found david
