As a man who wishes to have a son and raise him right, the strong possibility of him being lured into the cult of right-wing misogyny is terrifying. It’s never been more pervasive, and it can reach any young person with a phone or tablet or who has friends who do. We can talk all we want about educating children and teaching internet safety but teenagers are driven to defy boundaries and seek out their own spaces, and there is a massive, loud machine operated by the richest, evilest people on the planet trying to trick boys into making their lives and the lives of everyone around them a living hell. Convincing young men that they’re victims of an imaginary war between emasculation and empowerment has never been easier.
