A virtuoso at playing the YouTube. A lot of people don’t realise how much skill it takes to do that.

    This is unprofessional.

You’re Justin Bieber. Do you not have a music director who can rework your old material into your live set?

You are not some struggling indie artist in 2007 with an aux cord playing your first show in a tiny club to 30 people.

He has shown time and time again he has little to no work ethic. I feel bad for the people who will try to justify this

  4. I heard he played YouTube videos and I assumed he had at least made, like, a playlist to play them from. The fact that he’s searching for them is killing me 😂

  5. So lazy.. only he could get away with this shit. Highest paid performer and lowest production value. His fans are fools

This screams “this is so deep but you wouldn’t understand”

Like hire someeeoneeee!! Freakin Sega does a better job of conveying nostalgia at their shows when they have a band playing while they have clips of the video games of which the songs are from on in the background

i’m still really confused by his set. on one hand the Swag songs were boring as hell while his vocals were pretty good. the youtube portion was off-putting at first though i can see the appeal for his Beliebers in the audience. a part of me felt sad watching this though. i’m getting the vibe that he has to tour due to money issues and that coachella check is going straight to creditors. i doubt he’d sell his masters for funsies. this was all just weird and i’ve put way too much thought into Justin Bieber.

Festivals have a life. A lot of festivals start out lowkey with lots of amazing performances but then comes the fans and the cash. Coachella is a bloated cash grab and fans get what they get.

I understand times have changed and things are different, but we need to start having a high expectation of performers and artists again. Imagine paying all that money to see anyone, and they show YT videos. I would walk out, even if this was some underground club.

  10. He doesn’t care because most of the crowd is going to hype him up anyways and he knows he’ll get paid regardless.

YouTube is a big sponsor of Coachella so I wonder if he was paid extra to do this

A female performer would have been booed out right there and then. Why do events still invite this guy anyway? He hasn’t had a good song in years and is obviously fucking unwell.

I think the concept of Justin Bieber doing a concert where he goes through all the eras of his career while involving some element of YouTube is a fine idea because he was one of the first youtuber turned popular singer possibly the first even and so those two are intrinsically linked. Unfortunately playing thirty second YouTube clips of your songs and memes on the coachella big screen is not it. The parts where he duetted with kid him was the closest to getting what he was going for but even so it felt composed when it should have been more emotional. I don’t think it’s laziness in fact I think he was trying way too hard to do something and it failed because ultimately I don’t think he’s got the introspection to fully go through with the idea.

  14. Wow imagine standing in a sweaty, drunk and tired crowd holding in your pee for hours just so you can see Justin Bieber and he pulls this shit lol

Like if I wanted to watch a twitch streamer reacting to Justin Bieber clips I would but no I’m here to watch Justin Bieber perform. what fuck is his problem

Ya’ll should have walked away to another stage. Who else was playing at that time? Respectully in 2006, I remember when a bunch of people left Depeche Mode mid set for the Daft Punk Tent Stage. I was one of them.

  17. Imagine if a female popstar did this. The standards for male performers are well and truly in the gutter.

And miss me with the “he only did that for 20 minutes” excuses. You can pull a stunt like that for one encore, but that’s it.

Didn’t get sell his entire catalogue, does that mean he has to pay to sing his songs?

I think he thought this would be wholesome and cool, which it could have been in a much smaller, lower budget venue but on one the biggest event stages of the year it falls incredibly short.

This is Tracy Jordan reading the phone book and winning a Tony energy. Thank you 30 Rock for 20 years of material!

  21. don’t want to be the devil’s advocate but this genuinely might be a commentary on how his career started on YouTube and he became a defining part of the early 2010s internet culture, also considering he was playing memes from that era on the screen too.
