James McAvoy on plastic surgery: “I don’t know, there’s a lot of people just starting to look a bit weird. That is the thing, you aren’t looking younger, you’re just looking weirder”

  1. it’s true but he’s looking way too old for his age. better at least use some lotion and sunblock or something.

  2. For actresses there is a different standard of aging enforced. McAvoy still can be a dashing romantic lead into his 50s while aging naturally. For a woman its often at tge first lines of 30 where they start getting moved around.

Also its about restraint. There are a number of famous women who’ve gotten slight things done and are still recognizable as themselves.

To me the whole thing is just Cis gender affirming care and especially if you are honest about it and do so under tge supervision of responcible medical professionals go with God.

  3. 100%. Plastic surgery is still someone’s choice so I don’t really have any comments on that. I wish it wasn’t needed but that’s the society we live in.

What I do have a oroblem with is Ozempic. Everyone walking around with Ozempuc cheeks would miss the cheek fat in some years. Not to mention there are so many side effects to it.

I think there’s *a lot* of plastic surgery happening that we don’t even notice. Plus there are people who got better work than others.

It’s the extremes people are taking it to, again, that’s making people look so weird.

Like Mindy Kaling has had a lot of work done, and looks very *different*, but not weird. Lindsay Lohan is another example. Part of where people go wrong is trying to fundamentally change their face structure.

All I can think of now when I see him is that he is doing the Harry Potter audio books and it makes me so sad.

I totally agree with him, but I also think it’s easier for men to age in Hollywood. So it’s a lot easier for him (who is also aging very very well for a guy LOL) to stick to his guns on this than it would be for a woman his age.

Then again, it’s a matter of getting a good plastic surgeon that doesn’t give you the Mar-a-Largo Barbie look.

  7. That was a really rude question from the interviewer to single out a specific surgery

that’s exactly it like sure there’s pressure and i don’t blame anyone for getting stuff done, but if your job is to emote and you’re freezing your features… you’re incapable of doing your job properly. it’s as simple as that. it’s painful watching some stuff nowadays where people are crying their eyes out and nary a crease on their forehead, a period piece with chiclet teeth, every pair of lips is smooth and about to burst with filler…

This is my second time seeing this headline and first time realizing it says James mcavoy and not James acaster

  10. “Why can’t you just admit it’s over? You had your time. Stop trying to look fuckable in your 50’s”
