We all know some friendships are forever, and others fade over time. But when you are a Hollywood star, having long-standing relationships of any kind can be tricky, and that might resonate with Jennie Garth and Tiffani Thiessen. Garth has finally addressed her once-close bond and the eventual distance with cast members of “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

In 1994, Thiessen, who is also known for her role in “Saved by the Bell,” joined the iconic series during its fifth season as Valerie Malone. Garth was already a central figure, which made her feel a certain way.

“She writes that Thiessen’s character ‘brought tension, complexity, and a fresh energy to the ensemble,’” but behind the scenes, Garth said she was feeling “threatened and competitive.” Garth also said this was a pattern she had experienced with “many beautiful co-stars before.”

Garth wanted to flip the coin and decided to make a conscious shift. “That’s how we became best friends during her years on ‘90210,’” she explains. According to the star, what started as a rivalry became a genuine, close friendship, with a bond that grew strong enough that Thiessen was a bridesmaid at Garth’s 2001 wedding to Peter Facinelli.

She Was Also A Matchmaker

One of the most surprising details from Garth’s memoir reveals that she also had a role in Thiessen’s love life. Garth said that while working on “What I Like About You,” she thought that actor Brady Smith would be a perfect match for Tiffani. “He was tall and handsome and from Texas,” Garth writes. “Cut to: They’ve been married for years with a gorgeous family.”

Despite their friendship, something changed over time. Unfortunately, Garth doesn’t explain what really caused the split, per People; however, she did share where things stand now. “Tiffani and I didn’t have such a happy ending with our friendship,” she writes. “We’re no longer close.”

Garth reveals that while the two have crossed paths, their encounters lacked warmth. “The connection we once shared wasn’t there,” Garth reveals. “I’ve come to see that some friendships are meant for a reason or a season, and ours was a meaningful one, while it lasted.”

Tiffani Thiessen’s Perspective

During a 2012 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Thiessen addressed the split from another perspective. “We had a falling out and we grew apart,” she said, revealing that she “was the one who was hurt, let’s just say that.”

As of this writing, neither star has publicly shared the full story, and the world might never know the details of their fallout.

For fans of Beverly Hills, 90210, the friendship was always intriguing, but now, after Garth’s reflection, viewers of the iconic show can recognize that, despite their years of closeness, the pair might always have unresolved issues.
