Not because of the lyrics, not because of what it meant or what it was about, but because of what we were actually watching. We were glued to the screen from start to finish, completely captivated by how beautifully, unapologetically weird this music video is. And honestly, we are HERE for every single second of it.
There’s quirky, and then there’s Opalite quirky. Taylor Swift has done it again. She created something that makes you tilt your head, blink twice, and immediately want to watch it all over again.
We didn’t analyze it, we didn’t try to decode it we just experienced it and that felt like exactly the right way to react to something like this.

Influenced. Really loved your past video and this one! Was happy when I saw this pop up. This video is pure Taylor humor and I love it!! Mother in law getting spray in the face 😂😂😂😂 Taylor is a huge friends fan and it’s wildly believed to pay homage. Lisa Kudrow had a guest appearance on 1989 tour and sang smelly cat with her 😂

Love your energy! Anti-hero is another video directed by her which really communicates the lyrics of the song. All about self doubt and intrusive thoughts. Also shows her quirky side. She really is a big nerd and I love her for it.

As for other videos, “The Man” is her directorial debut, and I highly recommend it. She’s directed her own videos since. “Fortnight” and “Antihero” are wonderful. One of my faves for both song + video is “Delicate”. Also, rep-era Taylor is where people start labeling her as Mother, and one watch of “Look What You Made Me Do” will tell you why. 🖤
Great reaction! I would LOVE for you to react to “Better than Revenge” live from her “Speak Now” concert. She’s 20 in this concert and this album leans more into country/rock. Her performance/vocals/attitude/guitar battle at the end! It’s just a master piece!

I'm not your typical Swiftie since I am 73… However that being said there are two songs that you need to listen to. Either make it a two-for or one after the other , "Dear John" live, first then "Would've, could've, Should've" both are about her relationship with John Mayer. The first one she wrote when she was 19 and he was 32. The second she revisited the story when she was 32. It's a must! Then there's a very small clip that only true Swifties know. "Thug Story" with T Pain the rapper…. She may have been 16-17 at that time…. Welcome by the way to the Swifty universe… We're all pretty nice over here.

Missing the song because of the video is a Taylor Swift trademark. She makes mini little movies. Also, note that she sprayed herself. She thought she was the problem. Sad. Also, Anti-Hero's video would be a good next step.
