Jordan Lucas has been celebrating success during his volleyball matches since he was 15.

Those celebrations have garnered the gay college athlete attention and admiration throughout his volleyball career. As he’s built a top-notch reputation for himself with his play, he’s also made a name for himself with his now-patented flamboyant hair-flips and air kisses that stand out in the sport.

  1. The man is 6’3!!! Maybe more people need to know this before picking on someone who could stomp them to death.

    Volleyball is the best sport. A character like this is what it needs to get some attention. I love them!

    Because… here’s a great thing about the drama that is sports: When the player you hate fails? I don’t know how to explain it without misspelling German words.

    I’m glad I read that wrong – I thought the headline meant the announcer was the one who had “received massive support and says he’s ‘not going to back down'” and I got really sad

  4. He is a stud! What a star for the team. Good for him! Shame on announcer… like, can they be cancelled plz?

  5. Omg why? Because he’s making volleyball seem fun? God forbid. Haters gonna hate I guess

    God forbid someone has fun doing something they love. Holy shit mind your damn business!

  7. Dennis Rodman used to make guys as uncomfortable as possible on purpose. He’d make kissing noises and get his groin right up against them while playing defense.

    Is there a middle ground where we acknowledge that:

    1. this is dramatic and fun to watch as an audience;
    2. gay people in sports (or anywhere) shouldn’t be attacked for flamboyance;
    3. some of these displays are self-celebratory; and
    4. some are just poor sportsmanship?

    You don’t want gay athletes held to a higher standard, but you also don’t want them held to a lower one…

    Its one thing to think its bad sportsmanship (which he notably didnt say), its another to call for violence.

    Would that tv announcer have a problem if he did the wide leg deep knee bent walk stomp while pounding his chest thingy? Or the fist clenched in the air pulled down in to a yes scream thingy? What about the hop step while kissing you finger and then pointing it to crowd thingy?

    It is to me all the same kind of thingy.

    Celrbratory displays are only problematic if they slow down game play or are hardcore taunting. Imho.

    Shaq once dunked on somebody and rode his body down before shoving him in the cheekiest way possible. Jordan Lucas frankly isn’t being gay enough.

    Wouldn’t like to watch that but not sure why you would promote violence against this
