Same with changing car consoles from physical knobs and buttons into touch screen everything!! It’s actually so much more dangerous that car shit is all digital now. Give me a knob that I can use without looking instead of multiple screens I have to go through to get to the right thing!

The button thing is so valid!!!! I was watching Fifth Element the other day and every futuristic technology still had buttons. I thought it was funny but that’s what we thought the future would’ve been like. Innovations like flying cars and stuff, but still having buttons and knobs to turn on radios, start cars, brew coffee, etc. It’s like we’ve become obsessed with screens and not having buttons, and then when the screen breaks it’s so much harder to fix. Ugh.

I work for Snap-on and it’s not a perfect company by any means but one of the things I really love about it is that they really have not changed their designs for products for decades. Wrenches, ratchets, etc dont need to constantly be updated. They found the perfect designs for them decades ago and they’ve just figured out the manufacturing side to keep it consistent. There are still other tool manufacturers today who sell wrenches with outright poor design and intention.
