See Rick Moranis’ First Red Carpet Appearance in Nearly 9 Years | E! News

Rick Moranis made his first red carpet appearance in nearly nine years. The beloved ‘Ghostbusters’ actor made a rare public appearance at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, signaling his big-screen comeback in the upcoming sequel ‘Spaceballs: The New One.’ On April 15, Rick joined original cast members Bill Pullman and Daphne Zuniga, along with new additions like Lewis Pullman and Josh Gad, to promote the long-awaited sequel. The film, produced by Mel Brooks, is set to hit theaters on April 23, 2027, and will see Rick reprise his iconic role as Dark Helmet from the original 1987 cult classic. Rick stepped away from Hollywood in 1997 after the tragic loss of his wife, Anne Moranis, choosing to focus on raising his children, Rachel and Mitchell Moranis.
