Two United Way organizations are teaming up with seven local celebrities for a “Battle of the Ballroom” fundraiser on Saturday aimed at supporting United Way-funded programs in the Ohio Valley and Jefferson County.
Organizers said the partnership is designed to expand their reach as demand grows across the communities they serve.
“We have 11 agencies, and we’re now looking to add 9 more agencies. So it’s showing a growing need in our county, so we have to be able to provide the financials to be able to help all those that are in need, and there’s a huge need,” United Way of Jefferson County Executive Director Marci Snyder Crawford.
The event will be held at the St. Florian Event Center and starts at 7 p.m. Organizers said only a few tickets remain and they will not be available at the door the night of the event.
