The show really is not a comfortable rewatch. It sort of fills me personally with dread. I lived in New York and my parents really thought Lena was describing my life to a tea and she was not. It was a lot.
Having said all that there are certain episodes that are unbelievably brilliant and Lena’s talent is undeniable. Panic in Central Park, the Matthew Rhys episode is such a beautiful mouse trap you are numb by the time the twist happens and the independent Shosh episode in Japan that ends in a very haunting cover of Life on Mars. It’s iconic and I respect it as much as I truly cannot rewatch it. It makes me feel a lot of anxiety and dread. My 20’s were a really hard time to find my footing and maybe the show does speak to that weird aching hollow time of uncertainty.

I really liked the plotline with Patrick wilson as the doctor. I loved how it showed Hannah for a small time that dating doesn’t have to be hard, and that even if you aren’t the beauty standard you are still desirable.

I’m a 40 year old millennial and I’ve never watched this show. In true millennial fashion, I can now never watch this show to prove a fucking point that doesn’t even exist but it exists in my mind.
