I had a yellow one. Then the next year I’m pretty sure I had a star wars rancor

I find all this nostalgia baiting extremely boring & sad. We need to move on its not healthy.

A classic tale of being a child in the 90s. My dad always tells a story of chucking a Barney cassette out the window after it was all we listened to on a long car ride. Now, as a parent myself, I recently asked him why he didnโt bring more than one tape on the drive and he had no answer ๐

This story reminds me of a time that I got a prank can of peanuts in a Wendyโs kids meal, and immediately opening it instead of waiting until we got home like my mom always told me to, and that little snake thing went straight out the damn car window!! I was so mad at myself and heartbroken my joke peanut can was useless now.

Relatable. My dad once threw on a robe over his whitey tighties in the middle of the night, took my Furby outside, set it on a stump in the backyard, and smashed the little dude into pieces with a hammer until it stopped talking.
I remember climbing up on the sink and looking out the kitchen window with my nose pressed against the glass watching him lose his absolute shit on the thing. In the moment I was a little shocked but I did understand it. I had been wrapping the Furby in towels and shoving it under my bed to get it to think it was nighttime. It was still talking even without the battery in at that point and I think my dad was both preserving his sanity and saving us from a poltergeist.

Tamagotchi has an app, if you want to traumatize yourself.

My wife has taken our 9 year old for the evening and her Tamagotchi is beeping away in the corner.
Currently debating whether she’d miss it if I accidentally drop kicked it over the wall into next door’s garden
