Harder to break in when you’re older (for Hollywood) but it must be nice to have the formative years behind you if you do manage to do it
He seems like such a humble person and appreciates all the opportunities he’s been given.
They can never make me hate you, Pedro Pascal.
Also, I think it majorly benefitted him that his youth wasn’t documented online for all eternity.
People use the term “Late in life” a lot, but I think a lot of people find success too early. Coming into your own at 38 sounds about right to me.
love his friendship with bella ramsey!
this is why I don’t rag on actors like Zendaya for appearing in lots of projects. It’s smart to strike while the iron is hot because you’ll never know when things will change. Pascal and Goggins doing the same now after being in the industry for a couple decades is no different to me
Besides, not like anyone’s forcing me to watch all their stuff anyway
I guess some people might be disappointed if they don’t have massive succes erly in their career, but it must be so much easier to experience that kind of stardom at a later age.
This reminds me of François Anrnaud, who said he would have probably been dead by now if Heated Rivalry happened when he was Connor’s and Hudson’s age.
Him and Jessica Chastaing too. They both have a very grounded approach to fame and their craft, despite being now very rich and recognized. Chastaing break in that Malick film almost never happened and then she attained public and industry recognition quite quickly after.
I also see this, interestingly enough, in Zendaya. Probably because she (despite her youth) already has a long career and had to make strategic decisions to pivot into « serious cinema ». I’m very curious about what she’s going to do next : pretty sure she’s long overdue for a pause, but her return, if she manages to retain her career, will certainly be interesting.
He’s very likable.
He reminds me of Olivia Colman in a lot of ways. They only got FAMOUS famous in their late thirties, so when it did finally hit they didn’t crack under the pressure of it. They still seem to have some sense of reality.
I feel it’s far better that way. Look at all the people who got famous in their teens, or even their twenties, and are hugely (and often very publicly) struggling.
Many of my favorite actors are late bloomers and they all share this perspective. Alan Rickman, Peter Dinklage, Pedro Pascal, etc.
A fitting metaphor for him to use

“it’s more like, whether I like it or not, I am what I am”
Love that perspective
out of the oven, already baked, but still hot, Pedro
Heh heh nice. “Fully baked” on 4/20 because that’s the weed number 😜
