It’s so sad she never got to see GSK captured but I’m sure she knows

I like that even though he’s happily remarried, he can still post tributes like this (calling her baby, acknowledging that he misses her). Life after spousal loss is complicated and heartbreaking. It’s oddly comforting to see him post like this.

He did the best he could. I know from some sources. He is and has been an ally and cool. She died from her work. She caught a killer.

Dang has it been 10 years already? I remember this happening and it feels like maybe 4 years ago

  5. Wow, can’t believe it’s already been a decade. I remember the docuseries he made about her and her true crime writing – so good.

I watched the documentary on her (ill be gone in the dark) and Patton gave me the ick and side eyeing his role I feel he contributed to her death isolation paranoia and drug usage. He traveled constantly and she waa essentially a single parent. He remarried real quick and I know everyone loves him and thinks he was the perfect husband but for me, no.

  7. it’s been 9 years since he married his second wife?!

/s i think their story is cute and everyone grieves differently, and he has always seemed respectful of Michelle’s memory

  8. I was working at his alma mater that day and we were all just so behind sad for him. He’s such a nice guy.

I cannot believe it’s already been 10 years. Such a good writer, gone too soon.

Patton Oswalt visited my high school sometime in 2018/2019 to speak about Michelle, who graduated from my school. I remember being very affected by his words and how he spoke about her. Rest in peace Michelle ❤️

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark is one of the best nonfiction books I’ve ever read, Michelle was so talented. And I think it’s widely acknowledged by people who worked the GSK case for years that it wouldn’t have been solved without her determination and dogged reporting. Rest in peace to her. 🕊️

So sad! I wrote about her book in a journalism class, so well-written. It’s insane how much she knew! I was super into true crime when the GSK was caught and I remember it So vividly. Wild
