20 years ago today Faith Hill and Tim McGraw started their Soul2Soul II Tour. At the time, it became the highest grossing country tour ever.

The opening act for a portion of their shows was a young girl named Taylor Swift.

Yay! I was so happy to see my post approved. Completely forgot to make a post body, but I’ll just say that she’s come so far. I can’t wait for Debut TV. 🥹

  2. People don’t understand how big Faith Hill was. I honestly feel like ‘Breathe’ is one of the most iconic country pop songs of all time.

I got to meet Faith once and share about how much her music meant to me. I’m rarely starstruck but seeing her triggered a flood of childhood memories and I was excited to explain the impact her songs had on my life. She was so kind and gracious. It was around the time she was doing that talent tv show with RuPaul and Drew Barrymore.

Incidentally I would assume that yes… they’ll be at the wedding.  This will be one hell of a wedding.

This tour changed that blond singers life. First, she fully convinced the promoter Louis Messina that she was worth paying attention to.  He would go on to promote all her tours, including eras.  An absolute legend (through Taylor he would end up meeting some red headed English singer… he did all right too!)

She also met Robert Allen… Tim’s tour manager. A year later he quit his job and joined Taylor… he’s one of her main managers to this day. (In the eras doc In his letter to Taylor, Travis thanks a Robert for touting the tour through KC… it’s that Robert)

That was 20 years ago? Time is flying by! I listened to Tim and Faith constantly as a kid because I loved country music and then it was Taylor Swift.
