  1. > “I think I feel really quite sad when I watch a lot of those documentaries, for obvious reasons,” Duff said. “I feel very grateful that I wasn’t put in too many positions that left battle wounds on me. But I have held a job as an adult since I was nine years old. I have a very different upbringing. I have a lot of missed experiences, but also a lot of amazing [ones].”

I’ve read before that her mom did not mess around and was very intense. Love to hear it, having a caregiver who can’t be bought gives these child stars a shot at a stable future.

  3. She probably still has some complicated feelings about working so young.
But more than likely doesn’t feel like whatever her trauma may be is enough to talk about it since so many child stars had it worse.

Zendaya has touched on it briefly in interviews as well. I feel like she has complicated feelings about being a child star as well, but doesn’t delve into it publicly much either.

  4. There’s a reason these former child stars never let their kids become child stars…

She dated Aaron Carter and probably saw the headlines of his decline and obviously paid tribute to him after his death. I’m glad that she didn’t get sucked in too deep of the dark side of child stardom.
