HOOVER – One of the most star-studded events of the year is returning to Greystone Golf and Country Club this Wednesday as the Regions Tradition Pro-Am tees off.
The 2026 edition of the Regions Tradition Pro-Am is set for Wednesday, April 29 at 6:50 a.m. at Greystone’s Founders Course.
The event features legends from sports and music teeing up with pros from the PGA Tour Champions ahead of the start of the Regions Tradition the next day.
The pro-am allows fans to see their favorite celebrities in a new light and have opportunities to meet them and even get autographs throughout the day. The celebrities will be raising money for local charities, including Children’s of Alabama.
Groups will tee off in two groups, with the main celebrities starting between 6:50 a.m. and 9 a.m. and the rest starting between noon and 2:10 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $34 and available at Tixr.com/groups/regionstradition/events/regions-tradition-presented-by-coca-cola-168941 . Upgrades for the Dobel Tequila Club are also available.
Parking will be available at 2500 Corporate Dr with shuttle service offered to the clubhouse.
Alabama and Auburn names dominate the field once again, headlined by former Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban and NBA legend Charles Barkley as they step away from their time as ESPN analysts to hit the course.
Both sitting Tide and Tigers football and basketball coaches will play as well, with Kalen DeBoer and Nate Oats representing Alabama and Alex Golesh and Steven Pearl making their debuts at the event with Auburn.
The college coaches aren’t limited to the Iron Bowl participants as Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Ole Miss’ Pete Golding and UAB’s Alex Mortensen will play alongside SEC commissioner Greg Sankey.
Alabama fans will also have the chance to see a pair of former Tide quarterbacks in Greg McElroy and AJ McCarron. McElroy currently cohosts “Mac and Cube in the Morning” on JOX while McCarron is the head coach of the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions.
Beyond college football, former cyclist Lance Armstrong, Atlanta Braves Hall of Famer Dale Murphy and retired quarterback Ryan Leaf will play in the tournament.
The music world will also be well-represented by country music star Riley Green and former American Idol Taylor Hicks. Green has created a new tradition in recent years with a short concert on the 14th tee with PGA Tour Champions pro John Daly. Last year, he performed the Bob Dylan classic “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” before teeing off.
