Gal Gadot and Casey Affleck in the Bitcoin Story Nobody Has Told Yet
ποΈ Welcome to the Gavin Mehl Channel! Gavin breaks down Bitcoin Killing Satoshi, the $70M Hollywood film starring Casey Affleck, recorded live on X!
Gavin dives deep into why this film is the ultimate springboard for bringing the Bitcoin story to a mainstream audience. With a $70 million budget already on the table and a planned appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in France next month to seek distribution through major studios, this is not a small independent project. Gal Gadot is set to play a character inspired by journalist Andrew O’Hagen, and the film covers the full arc of legal battles, intellectual property disputes, and the central question of who Satoshi really was.
The panel explores Calvin Ayre’s remarkable origin story, from growing up in a small Canadian town in a middle-class pig farming family to being one of the first people in Canada to access broadband internet in 1992. That moment sparked the idea for Bodog, his online gambling empire. But running Bodog meant dealing with constant credit card chargeback problems, merchant accounts getting shut down at 3% chargebacks, and a broken payment system that kept forcing the question: how do you move money online without relying on the card networks? That question is essentially the origin of the Bitcoin vision.
Craig Wright enters the story as a brilliantly awkward auditor at Centabet in Sydney, Australia, constantly pitching peer-to-peer digital payments to Stefan Matthews, who kept turning him away. Then the famous Ottawa meeting happened, where Calvin Ayre, Matthews, Craig, and Canadian attorney McGregor gathered at a corner lounge Calvin later purchased. They hopped in a taxi together and discussed intellectual property before flying to Sydney, where Matthews and McGregor reportedly saw a mysterious document described as the silver bullet of the entire Satoshi case. That document later vanished and never entered a courtroom.
Dave Kleiman, Craig’s closest friend and military defense contractor, is a central character in the film. Calvin paid around $15 million for the rights to the Satoshi story, which eventually led to the 2015 Wired article and years of global legal battles. The film’s central question: if Jack Dorsey, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Saylor, and Visa all formed an alliance to destroy one man, why would they bother if he were nobody?

How much do you wanna bet that the story will be changed to fit the current narrative in some way? There is no way they will let the truth be revealed on any kind of a major scale. Iβm guessing you believe we live in a democracy ha ha ha ha.

IMHO, bro Craig is agreeable as a person. Discontinuation is well needed. There's a legal crisis which translates to an existential crisis. There are simple measures to tackle the monetary crisis. The constitutional crisis is a slim problem since all you need to do is stop voting and migrate.π
Itβs sad watching Craig Wright getting rich off BTC while the rest of his followers getting poorer and poorer by the day with bsv ππ’
I'm a firm believer in look at what they do and not what they say
No matter who you think is Satoshi, that person hasn't sold all their BTC and reinvested it into BSV
which really shows which chain Satoshi likes the best.
I'm excited for Gal Gadot movie. I am her fan girl since 2017 and I met her at the D23 event. I'll surely watch her movie β€β€
Keep preaching brother. The truth is getting out.
