I didn’t mind Anthony Mackie (Sam) taking on the Captain America mantle but every time he has a new movie, people say it’s a flop and that he can’t act.
Now I wish Sebastian Stan (Bucky) would’ve been the one. ☹️

They could have tried spending a dollar on promos, first and foremost

It’s not a flop if the goal wasn’t to make money
One of King Salman’s in-laws got to have a fun time speding some pocket change making a film and rubbing shoulders with Hollywood types. I’m sure he would do it again

I have never heard of this movie, and from the comments I am not alone.

Anthony Mackie is not a leading actor. Nobody goes I can’t wait for the next Anthony Mackie movie. He’s great as a supporting actor but not as the main lead.

I live in Saudi and at my local cinema there is only one screening of it per day.

No money went to marketing I see
Cool gig, *Captain America*.

Don’t forget how the movie was marketed in Saudi Arabia and other ME countries.
They’re attempting to rewrite history by pretending they would rescue the princess instead of kidnapping and raping her until she got too old.

Either everyone involved got some bloated Saudi-money salary, or this is some Hollywood style accounting

Mackie is cool but hes not really an action star. Not even by my standards I think its subconscious that we like jawline and shit. Dude is quippy, not physically imposing and has the jawline of an aardvark. He ain’t the guy and im sorry

I just did a quick scroll through his Instagram and aside from a sudden burst of advertising there’s nothing I could find (at a glance) related to the production or anything of this movie. When did he even make this thing and where?

Rubbing my hands together like a house fly in anticipation of the inevitable What Went Wrong podcast episode about this film.

I remember seeing one trailer in theaters and that was it.

The movie being shot in 2021 and not coming out until 2025 was already a bad sign

I didn’t even know this movie existed.

Why is this called “Anthony Mackie’s $150 Million, Saudi-Funded Action Movie”? He didn’t write it. He didn’t direct it. He wasn’t a Producer. He wasn’t the Executive Producer.

>Set in seventh-century Arabia, Princess Hind (Aiysha Hart) defies her fate, refusing to become a concubine to the ruthless Emperor Kisra (Kingsley). Fleeing into the desert with her father, she is hunted by a merciless army and forced to trust a legendary bandit (Mackie) with secrets of his own. Rising from fugitive to fearless warrior, Hind unites warring tribes for a final stand — the Battle of Dhi Qar, a clash that will change history forever.
Oh man I haven’t seen a decent harem to romance film since well since Harem, also starring Ben Kingsley

Can’t believe he still gets leading roles, how many failures do they need? We don’t like the real Will Smith anymore we don’t need the poor man’s version either.

I saw the trailer for this yesterday and it seemed fine – I’d watch it. Kinda had a Lawrence of Arabia feel to it. Having said that, I’d never seen it mentioned until I saw that trailer.

No promo and let’s be brutally honest, Anthony Mackie isn’t winning any awards. He’s not a leading actor.
