Evangeline is a class act. I agree with the guys that many will be re- hired as needed for different movies but she is also correct in many jobs are gone for good because of AI. Eventually all those VFX jobs will be AI. Hopefully all the executives will be AI too.

Bob Iger, Kathleen Kennedy and their offspring’s will never have to work again but thousands are out of jobs. The ones who created the misery are never the ones who pay the price. It’s same across all levels of America today.

The ones laid off may have been the reason why Disney has failed recently. Diversification, women-empowerment, DEI… now A!! It's happening in all industries not just the entitled folks in tinsel-town.

Antman and the wasp lol was not the early days off good design at marvel, and he was not the original artist or designer, he reworked comic art, ai can rework a rework I dont care.

When you work for corporate, sometimes you gotta pay for corporate decisions. It’s not a fair game, but this ain’t the first time I seen a major corporation pelvis move, and it ain’t gonna be the last. You go corporate, you get corporate.
Disney having to fire people is Disney's responsibility. They have been run like the combination of Beijing Bona Film Group and Amazon since Iger took over, and that is unsustainable. I agree with Lilly that it is due to poor management that these people are being fired. However, I do have a caveat: If this has been an exercise in getting rid of in-house activists, then I whole heartedly applaud their efforts.
This is the cause of a decade of failures that they could have avoided if they paid attention to the audience. Free audience gauging was right on YT from content creators like this channel, Critical Drinker, G&G and Nerdrotic.
She's that dim witted she "doesn't understand" how the computer-based FX industry is being affected by AI? Is this to be reposted by her followers to others who "don't understand" AI is coming after every low and mid tier job?
Was she complaining when CGI replaced traditional matte painting? How about 3D printed costume pieces instead of hand-made? When AI-assited editing tools replace more editors? When digital editing replaced film?.I could go on and on.
Technology that makes things easier and cheaper will always be used. Only now that her marketability as an actress is fading does she publicly have a problem with it.

These artists did nothing but copy from the actual comic book artists. The actual creators of all these characters and stories haven’t been paid squat.
I really don’t know what to do anymore. Having to witness the collapse of the Hollywood industry is very very painful. Now I just want to suffer a fatal heart attack and die because I can’t take the pain anymore. Besides, I don’t matter because nothing I do ever makes a difference. I went to see The Day the Earth Blew Up and it still bombed and 2D is still dead. People tell me that I rely too much on external factors to determine how I feel but I can’t help it because it hurts to see something important to me in the position it’s in because of poor choices from toxic leaders. People also tell me that I can still watch content that I enjoy and that has my values but the pain is still overpowering that I can’t enjoy anything. Now I have nostalgia depression because I miss when the industry was better. I know that the film industry can be better than it’s been for the last decade but I haven’t seen any signs that it ever will be. That’s why I’m in constant rumination and anxiety and why I wish for death so I can finally be at peace and not feel pain anymore. And would people stop insulting me? People call me “unstable” and that I need to “move on” but that’s bull advise!

DEI got them fired. Imagine if they kept going in the same style and thematic direction after endgame.
Iger and Kennedy were Captains of the ship. Made all the final decisions, that resulted in running the ship aground. But they just walk off adorned in gold.
Now we know that Lilly wasn't asked to return to Doomsday and Secret Wars. Lol.

Unfortunately every industry experiences layoffs. Even more unfortunately industries in decline experience large and often permanent ones.
Too little too late. I’ve worked on big marvel tentpole movies in VFX post production. We’ve been treated like shit for decades. DECADES. Long hours, no days off, no job security, no insurance. Also, no guaranteed credit – did you know craft services (often listed above us on the credits – these are the people who provide food on set – are GUARANTEED credit on a film? VFX artists? It’s a crapshoot if you’ll see your name – most likely listed in a massive block of names under the general title, “CG ARTISTS”. What a fucking joke. I’m glad this adult pretender is finally seeing it, as it finally affected someone she knew personally, but it’s too late. Hollywood has left Hollywood.
Actors are always speaking out on how evil corporations are, yet they're surprised when a corporation that they work for does it. It's almost like they're brainwashed.

I love Evangeline Lilly … based, beautiful, talented. Just a good person. Marvel though did it to themselves…. they let the woke in. Sadly, there are good people who are just trying to make a living who are paying the price.
As if her extravagent paycheck didn't contribute to the layoffs. Didn't hear any news stories about her demanding she gets paid less so no one loses their job in the long run.
So, her unimpeachable source was ONE GUY guy who designed a suit she wore in a movie once? That's ROCK SOLID!
