  1. Good. Being a mom isn’t the only damn path for women. I wasn’t going to watch this movie, but I’m kind of interested now.

I am all for it (as a childfree woman). But in the movie she mentioned several times her frozen eggs in a clinic and her desire to make them into babies. Which bothered me a bit, because she could be the epytome (one of few) of the single child-free protagonist, but they made it apparent that she misses having kids.

As a mom who is still career driven but obviously juggling everything and in our society cannot “have it all,” I think it’s great and makes perfect sense for this to be Andy’s story. Can’t wait to watch – if I can get a sitter lol.

Can you classify someone as single when their B Plot is an unneeded romance?

This is funny considering the entire thesis of the original second book is Andy’s spiraling anxiety over her upcoming motherhood, being married to Alex (Nate in the book) and the possibility of working with Miranda.

That is, if I even remember correctly. I read the first book many times despite the flaws, but that book sequel was so horrendous I dragged myself to the ending and never touched it again.

    Childless not childfree.

Childfree woman would not freeze her eggs.

I didn’t like the forced romance they tried to do with the contractor lol. He was so bland.

I fucking love this. As the token single mom in my neighborhood, you’re damned right many of us seem far happier than our married counterparts. Not universally for sure, there are a lotta decent husbands out there. But man if I don’t seem like the freest bird when I’m walking my kids to school.

  9. I half expected them to shoehorn in Jenna Ortega as her daughter and was pleasantly surprised to see that not happen.

That’s great. It always annoyed me that people called the original a romcom. There was barely even a romantic sideplot. It just stars women, and doesn’t need to have romance to be interesting.

  11. Idk the movie gave a good chuckle because of Miranda’s scathing glee seasonone one liners but the whole thing felt so bland and tired and over glamorized. The fact that Andy gets a job in fashion right after calling out her news company for laying everyone off is such a huge hypocrisy in her characterization. Not to mention Miranda conveniently forgetting Andy ever existed and having a do over as the same distrusting character. Didnt need this sequel tbh, but the investors clearly did.
