This is a weird project. A lot of people who liked him might like this, but Bourdain probably would have hated that this is happening.

    2. Dominic Sessa was born to play someone who hasn’t slept since the late seventies.

    3. As a huge Bourdain fan I think he probably would have hated this. Just going by the images it feels off, Bourdain had a warmth and cheekiness to him. These come off as very brooding and emo. I guess we’ll see when the trailer and film comes out though.

I’ve been waiting to see Dominic Sessa in more movies since The Holdovers came out but I don’t know about this one………

As an AB fan, I do not know why we need a film about him. His legacy lives in the actual books he wrote, in his own words on all of his tv media.

….I had a very visceral “NO!” reaction upon seeing this title. Anthony Bourdain was probably one of the first celebrities I truly “followed”, where he was the main draw for me. I can hear the disdainful, sardonic disgust in his voice that this movie is even being made.

As much as I love all things Bourdain, I can’t imagine anything positive from this movie, and therefore, this will be a pass for me.

Anthony Bourdain touched so many lives through our screens and it takes one in a million type of charisma to make such a positive impact on people’s lives like that.

He wasn’t just a chef. He was Anthony Bourdain. I hope he rests peacefully wherever he is…

I’m so confused why people think someone who spent so much of his life willingly on camera, would be turning is his grave because a movie was made about him.

I may be one of the few people on the planet that just finds this guy to be an insufferable (though obviously charming) asshole.

I just get so irritated when he says some dumbass shit that’s supposed to sound all enlightened because he came up through the gutters of the kitchen.

Also, any chef who says the words “I rather eat dog shit than a chicken mcnugget” has lost most if not all credibility to me. *see edit

Edit: I figured someone was going to question my claim and I am slightly mistaken. He said something along the lines of “I would rather eat a mcnugget than a warthog anus” but did say he would only resort to the nugget if it was dire circumstances.

So I take back my credibility, stance. He’s still an asshole, and I’m 99% sure he’d be fine with me saying that.

In contrast to a lot of other commenters, I’m excited to check it out. Dominic Sessa’s performance in The Holdovers was terrific and the director, Matt Johnson, also did BlackBerry, another movie that looked pretty unnecessary but ended up being a good watch.

Can anyone explain the Anthony Bourdain phenomenon to me? I just don’t understand why people are obsessed with him.

Obviously there are exceptions, but holy hell Hollywood is out of original ideas. It’s either some biopic or a remake no one asked for. Hard pass.

As a die hard fan of Anthony bourdain. We do not need this. We do not want this. Why would anyone do this.

Am I the only one who finds biopics, in general, cringe af? I’ve never been able to sit through a single one. 🤷🏼‍♀️
