Others have pointed this out on other threads, but I can’t even get excited about any outfits right now with everything going on..seems incredibly out of touch since most people are struggling to keep their families fed and their bills paid. And here these people are showing off their outfits that took 2000 hours to make? Yeah no

      Call me bitter I guess

She’s so real lol. I think I remember her publicly posting on her stories supporting Evan Rachel Wood and Amber Heard’s witness testimonies re their abuse? She’s posted on other issues too.

Love her. She stay on people’s necks too. Also love that Lisa Ann Walters hosted or MCd the labor party that was earlier in the day. Mamdani also supported labor unions today as well and broke a long tradition of mayors attending the gala

I think I recall seeing people in previous years compare the met gala and the outrageously expensive dresses and outfits to the capital in hunger games. While I agreed when I first saw those comments, I feel it’s even more relevant this year. Most of the country is struggling, yet these people, living so far out of touch of reality are going to this elitist event wearing an outfit that’s cost could easily help out a family (or maybe even two families) and their living expenses for a month. Sarah Paulson comes to mind with her dressing as the 1%. Babe. You ARE the 1%, it’s not ironic, it’s tactless.

The shininess of “twinkle town” has lost its luster, and the people seem to be dethroning celebrities from the pedestal they used to be on. And while it’s refreshing that there are celebrities not going to the met gala, they’re still living so far beyond what any of us normal people will ever be able to obtain even a fraction of.

Katy is the gross kind of celebrity that would play for dictators for money and clout, bad vibes, so she is not wrong

    7. I actually love this look from Katy…not being able to see her face is great

Love her and she’s 100000% right. I am seriously sideeyeing EVERYONE who attended the Met Gala.

I love Christina Ricci. She’s about my age and you can tell she’s got like one or two fucks left to give and soon she’ll have none.

Everyone thinks Anna Wintour is such an arbiter of taste and I do not get it. She is actually so not with it. She was respected for refusing to put Kardashians on the cover of Vogue or deal with them. And then she welcomed them into the fold after no one liked them anymore. Same with these tech troglodytes. Now that everyone hates billionaires, everyone hates AI and everyone who is actually intelligent knows how evil Meta and every other tech company is, she decides to give all those hideous ugly and completely fashion-less people entree.
