The Blind Attorney Who SUED a Hotel Into Changing Its Name! 😤🏨#shorts

⚖️ “Family Guide” – The Blind Attorney Who SUED a Hotel Into Changing Its Name! 😤🏨

A man and his guide dog walk into a hotel. The clerk is not happy. “Can I help you?” The man nods. “Yes, checking in.” The clerk points. “Uh, okay—no, no, no, no. Dogs allowed? No pets. Did you see the sign?” The man’s voice is calm. “I did not. Right.” The clerk crosses his arms. “Uh, well, we have a very strict no-pets policy.” The man smiles. “I have a strict don’t-break-the-law policy.” He turns to his son. “Oh, yeah, Kevin. You can still take a sick day. I do it all the time.” He looks back at the clerk. “I’m a blind attorney. Cannot see a thing. And California Civil Code 54.1 makes it illegal to deny lodging to anyone using a service animal. It’s a Civil Code, Kev.” The clerk’s face is pale. “Our hands are tied.” The attorney leans in. “If you don’t give me a room right now, I will sue you so hard that when the dust settles, you’ll be calling this the Mel Fisher Hotel. You know a good lawyer, Kev? ‘Cause I do.” The room is silent. The clerk hands over the keys. This is how a blind attorney wins every argument.

⚡ UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS:
• The dog: “No pets.” “He’s a guide dog.” 🦮
• The sign: “Did you see the sign?” “I did not.” 🛑
• The policy: “Strict no-pets policy.” “Strict don’t-break-the-law policy.” ⚖️
• The code: “California Civil Code 54.1.” 📜
• The threat: “Sue you so hard, you’ll be calling this the Mel Fisher Hotel.” 🏨
• The lawyer: “You know a good lawyer?” “‘Cause I do.” 😏

“Some guests complain about the pillows. This one threatens to rename the building.”

  1. BTW not only is it against California law, it’s also a federal crime under the American Disabilities Act to deny services to those with service animals.

  2. As someone who has a blind daughter I was nearly sent into a raging fury when this dumbass said “did you see the sign” after J Jonah Jameson said he was a guide dog

  3. I do wish that service animals were not allowed in some hotels. I travel a bunch and am very allergic to animals. I cannot feel safe in hardly any hotel because I know even if they advertise no pets, they still have to allow service animals. I do not want to inconvenience people who need service animals, but I do wish they would pick pet-friendly hotels most of the time, considering pet-free hotels are like one in four or less anyway.

  4. When i worked at Costco there was one wheelchair bound customer who ame.often just looking for something she couldn't reach then try to file a lawsuit. I once tried to assist her in reaching for something. She didn't want assistance. That was enough. She left saying she was going to sue…again.

  5. Kick back only when you have money to do such things, largely have to hope that the place anti animal just won't test you for your wealth and just allow it.

  6. There are exactly two questions an employee can ask about a service animal and expect a response. 1. Is that a service animal? and 2. What task is the animal trained to perform? and technically you CAN ask to pet the dog but you absolutely should not ask this as the dog needs to focus on their handler.

  7. I had a blind friend who would pull the most absurd bs cause his eyes moved but didnt work. One time on the bus home he was sitting in front of me and i guess he thought no one was sitting with him so he was looking towards the window and this older kid said "why you staring at me? You see something you like" and my friend said" i cant see anything I like in general. Im blind" and that older kid shut up

  8. Not how I'd have handled it. He keeps saying it's a no pets policy and sees the dog as a pet. He also probably doesn't understand the full laws around service animals, just ask to see his manager instead of browbeating him.

  9. This law is so powerful as a teenager I took my pit mix into buildings that do not allow dogs by claiming it was a guide dog, people really do not want to play games with these kind of law suits.
