Taylor Swift Responds to The Life of a Showgirl Copyright Lawsuit | E! News

A month after Taylor Swift was sued for her ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ album, the singer’s legal team has responded. In response to Las Vegas performer Maren Wade (real name Maren Flagg) suing the “Opalite” singer claiming copyright infringement and then filed a motion against her preventing the sale of merchandise from the album, Swift’s legal team said the motion “is the latest attempt to use Taylor Swift’s name and intellectual property to prop up her brand.” Elsewhere in the filing, Swift’s legal team pointed out that, prior to filing her lawsuit in April, Flagg had used ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ materials to promote her own work.
