So why did Courteney Cox do the movie then?

How could the studio lie about the numbers? Don’t they have to report accurately to their investors?

The production companies aren’t ethical. It’s always about money and power.
Actors don’t have any real power unless they’re producers and even then…
It’s all a big show.

This may have been a sarcastic like. Like when someone posts about you on FB and you haha it.

Idk, I feel like this “like” could mean so many things.
“Yeah, I see you talking.”
“I respect her opinion, even if I don’t share it.”
“Oops, my fat finger did it again, too late now.”
“I only scanned the title.”
Idk, maybe it’s just because I’m petty and messy but I feel like it’s #1 because, quality aside, the movie killed it at the Box Office and now all Barrera has is this fantastical cope.

She should not have said this at all

People are doing too much from two short sentences: “And I think they lied about the numbers. I don’t think it made that much money.” She didn’t say anything about *box office* numbers. That’s been inserted into the narrative.
IMO when people say “made” in terms of money they’re meaning profit and not revenue. We have zero clue what the real profit is, because we don’t know what they’re accounting for in the line item budget.
People also need to remember who owns Paramount and their motivations.

She probably doesn’t manage her own social media and may have someone reacting to any/all scream posts

First off. It was completely wrong what happened to her. No question there. So that should be stated first.
But I don’t get the whole acting like her or even Jenna to an extent are THE SCREAM franchise mindset. I get some Gen Z or people who only got into it more recently might feel that but it’s like people feeling 2015 the force awakens IS THE Star Wars when what the original did was bigger
The first scream was by far the biggest thing for horror in the 90s. It just feels odd to see Melissa as bigger than Neve

Honestly I don’t really think Courteney liking this means anything lol. I think she’s just showing Melissa some small form of support.
I highly doubt she’s co-signing calling the actors (including herself) scabs or that the box office numbers are a lie.

I understand why she feels this way – she made a stand when Neve got lowballed and refused to make Scream VI unless…..oh wait no. She didn’t.
