They probably won’t do it. But, I’d love to hear the intro bumper music from the original series. The answering machine would be a nice bonus. I’m not sure how they’ll pull that one off in today’s age.

I loved him as Angel and Booth and I remember my mom watching Rockford and me thinking he seemed like such a nice man and how cool it must be to live like that by the beach 😄

It’s great he reached out to Garner’s daughter. Classy.

I’m curious to see this develop. Boreanaz seems unstoppable!!

RJ Decker is literally the Rockford Files already. I was honestly surprised to learn it wasn’t a remake.

Wow. I hope it’s as awesome as the 50 other reboots of ‘70s TV shows they’ve made.

It will premiere in the nbc 26/7 fall season.

    From the article:

NBC has officially greenlit a series order for a reboot of classic TV series The Rockford Files, with David Boreanaz as the lead.

Boreanaz will step into the role of streetwise private investigator Jim Rockford, a role originated by the late actor James Garner.

Garner’s daughter Gigi Garner previously revealed that she had a conversation with the Angel actor about him possibly starring in the upcoming reboot.

Last year was the first time Boreanaz wasn’t a main role on a TV series in 27 years.

There will never be another Rockford Files
Because there will never be another Jim Garner

Garner was a legit movie star that *radiated* charisma

Boreanez has the charisma of an old sock
