Ryan O’Connell calls out the industry: ‘Hollywood has changed so radically. It’s Tim Allen’s world again and we’re just living in it. So much of what’s getting made in Hollywood does not represent the world we’re living in today at all.’

That’s good, I like Tim Allen

Edit: I would never watch something with Ryan O’Connell in it

I’m getting paywall by the article so I’m presuming he just means conservative or republican?

    3. Does it need to represent the current world though? Idk, I just like an entertaining show when I go to the cinema. Not necessarily a deep reflection upon society.

Note: I did not read the article and also don’t care for Tim Allen or really understand the quote. Just commenting on the last sentence.

To be fair he does have a point: A lot of what Hollywood has been producing over the last decade assumes the entire world is exactly like LA, and that does not represent the world.

      He’s right
Most of the world is much more conservative than Hollywood. Especially in Asia where most people live.

Well, Hollywood makes mostly superhero movies now so yeah, it doesn’t represent the world we’re living in today.

I miss when I could relate to movies like The Last Action Hero or Die Hard….I saw a little of myself in First Blood, except I am a wimp and have never been to war…

It represents the executives who pull the strings. Hollywood isn’t in the business of making good films. They’re in the business of making profitable films. Ironically, by ignoring the former, they fail at the latter.
