Mayor Mamdani: “Reagan famously said the 9 most terrifying words in the English Language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’ It’s a good quote, but I disagree. I think 9 more terrifying words are actually, ‘I worked all day and can’t feed my family”.

      He’s so good at this.

Every liberal democrat should be ashamed.

Puts literally every mainstream Democrat I ever heard of to shame. Dude’s actually following through on his promises as much as he can and helping people. Fuck everyone who said it wasn’t possible.

Every time this guy opens his mouth, he drops a bar. Dude is giving democrats a daily playbook on how to run an effective campaign and administration, yet I’m sure they’ll still find a spectacularly abysmal 83-year-old white man with the charisma of a wet paper bag to run in 2028!

I wish I was as good at *anything* as Mamdani is at communicating politics.

Meanwhile Slotkin: “Ronald Reagan must be rolling in his grave. I’m thankful Ronal Reagan was president.”

I’m crying. It should be this simple. It should be acknowledged and fixed. He’s doing so much.

Why can’t everyone else put aside their yachts and writing a stupid letter to oppose the other side and just fucking do something? Anything?

Fact check: correct, it is nine words. Citation: i counted on my hands

I’m honestly terrified for this guy’s future. He’s too popular, too disruptive. He goes against what *both* parties have come to represent recently (capital > lives).

People with populist momentum dont last long in a dictatorship.

I hope I’m wrong and this guy starts a movement that cripples this system, but plenty of history books tell a bleak story for those who try to go against the dictator.

    9. Jesus- good government can do so much. When we say government or really saying is that taxpayers are joining forces to add infrastructure and regulation to make our lives better. Are there people that take advantage? certainly. Are there crooked people in government? most assuredly .

But are there also taxpayers being helped? are there corporations being held responsible? Abso-fucking-lutly. And that is worth the entire process.

He may not be perfect, but he’s doing a lot more than what many Democrats rn are doing

Imteresting what happens when progressive liberal policies are tried. I’d love to see a progressive President in my lifetime.

I hope every democrat is taking notes. Mamdani is the only politician that gives me hope

He’s doing and saying allll the right things. So jealous of New Yorkers atm

    14. woahoutrageous_ on

I remember when centrist democrats attacked his lack of experience saying he would fail New York. He’s put every last one of them to shame.

I would say now is the time for the dems to have some introspection but they will continue putting profits and Israel over the people.

Is he this good. Or the current democratic establishment that bad? Probably both. How can he drop such bars every other week to counter decades of republican propaganda.

A message from a random Irish person: get more people like this in power and your country will actually be great.

    18. For the first time, a politician is actually trying to help people, normal every day people. It’s incredible to see and so insane that it’s 2026 and this is the first time in my lifetime.

    19. This reminds me of when Joe Kennedy III was running for Senate in Massachusetts more or less on his family legacy and Markie dropped a campaign ad where he just enumerated what he, Markie, had done to help constituents during the pandemic, and Markie ended with “*With all due respect, maybe it’s time you ask yourselves not what you can do for your country, but what can your country do for you*?”
It WALLOPED a guy running on the Kennedy name. Like, people posting the gif of it, bars all day, etc. Kennedy got creamed.

I absolutely love him and the hope he’s given me in these dark days. May there be more like him in all levels of government.

Whoever is in charge of his speeches and overall strategy needs to run the DNC. It is brilliant.
