I’d like people like Yvette Nicole Brown to take this to heart too instead of shitting on the rare few celebs with the courage to speak out.

Probably on Bezo’s super yacht. It’s a shame the majority of billionaires are spineless losers.

I had a “party” question I ran for about a decade. I would ask white males if they would rather be a billionaire and live their life forever as a black man, or continue living out their life as a white man with the caveat that they would never earn more than a minimum wage. No one ever took the billion dollars.
I don’t think that any white person that is also wealthy would risk their social status, privilege and money simply because they are kind hearted and empathetic. I think it may be much bigger than that (to them).

non-white people both in western and their own countries worship white celebs way more than their own, she is so right here

I work with some rich AF white dudes. One of them is a literal billionaire. Only speaking of the people I work with, they believe speaking out or putting their money towards a cause includes access and accolades. They do not appreciate nor welcome criticism, nor will they tolerate the discomfort of being told they are privileged. A few have told me that they feel called out and that since people feel “entitled” to call out their privilege, they won’t be donating or speaking up because they feel a target on their backs. They feel like they should be platformed and if they’re not publicly thanked or having their butts kissed, they’re not interested. The idea of lending their platform to uplift marginalized people is something they aren’t interested in doing. Considering this is the mindset of dozens of white rich dudes I know, I can only guess that mindset is quite common among them. There’s a lot of white rich male fragility.

It’s jarring as hell to not see her in her work clothes. Wouldn’t have recognized without unmuting or reading the title.

She is a gem and we don’t deserve her but we need her so bad. Omg. Thank you for being a REAL ally Ms. Rachel.
