Kacey Musgraves released a collab with Walmart this week. Sizes only go up to 18 or a 2XL leaving out plus sizes fans. Msgiggles on Instagram is a fat activist and size inclusive content creators who made a video calling out the lack of inclusivity for Kacey’s second fashion collab, especially at Walmart.

Kacey responded to the video with the comment in the photo.

Kasey Musgraves gives snakey snake sometimes, and this is one of the times. Yuck.

    2. I’m so sick of the passive aggressive “hope this helps!” that I keep seeing online

People will end the dumbest statements with “hope this helps”, and think they’re being witty

I kind of hate that she did a collab with Walmart to begin with. No hate to Walmart but it just seems so gimmicky and more like something Taylor Swift or Jojo Siwa would do

I’m not trying to be rude or dismissive, but is 2XL not considered plus sized? Not every fashion line can realistically accommodate every single size.

    6. As a fat girl, yep, that sucks, but honestly, I was already side eyeing her just for having a collection at Walmart.

    7. I feel like she xould have just left the ‘hope that helps’ out and it would not have come off so condescending.

I also feel like i’d buy this excuse for an indie store. Getting more sizes of a product can be expensive. More expensive than a lot of indie shops can afford. But fuckin walmart can afford to make it in all the sizes.

The “hope this helps” I’ve seen have actually kinda helped though. Like when some asshole online mansplains or questions a woman’s certifications, and that woman responds with a picture of her dissertation or herself in like her park ranger gear or whatever. “Hope this helps.”

This is just shitty from Kacey. Bummer.

As a woman who wears 2XL most of the time, I understand I have better luck finding clothes than anyone larger than me. But I also understand that standard clothing sizes usually only accommodate XS to 2XL.

Kacey’s response is disingenuous and condescending, but unless she’s carrying sizes on the complete other end of the spectrum (XXS for example), I don’t understand people above 2XL being upset. Its not always possible to accommodate every single possible clothing size.

The way this response could have been respectful but she went out of her way to make it rude 🫩 “I picked the looks but had no control over the sizing. I’m sorry.” Recognize the issue and apologize for the fans who were left out. That’s literally it.

I often wonder what motivates celebs to respond to posts like this when they could just ignore them and everyone would believe they never saw it in the first place because they’re tagged in so many things.

Kacey’s (I don’t know who this is btw) comment seems mean but I don’t want to judge since I haven’t seen the video she responded to. She may have just been returning energy? A lot of TikToks about celebs, legitimate criticism or not, are really mean and cruel these days.

Is she crazy? Why comment at all if this is all she has to say? I just lost respect

Even if it is out of her control, size 2xl is plus size, I feel people don’t have to accommodate every single size past a 2xl. It’s not like she’s making or promoting clothing exclusively to skinny people.

I’m a plus size gal, and I know not every clothing line is not going to have clothes in my size and that’s okay.

The real crime is the collab being with Walmart.

She’s always been an asshole, aside from where she lands on most social causes. She’s gotten by because of that and making being a stoner her entire personality until the last record before this one. She’s a good songwriter but I suddenly lost any interest in listening to this new album. Hope that helps!

The comment itself is rude and in poor taste, but I do genuinely believe that she didn’t have control over what sizes are available.

Of course she *could* have demanded that they go up to a certain size before ever agreeing to the collab, but that would require insight into purchasing and sales of clothing that I do not believe she has.

She’s just some singer who agreed to a collab, I’m sure she assumed the giant corporation had a handle on sizes. There was a way to word this that would explain her side of things while also acknowledging that she still has stuff to learn and will do better in the future. She did not word it that way.

I’m plus size, very passionate about the lack of size inclusivity in clothing, but the fact that this line isn’t inclusive doesn’t bother me NEARLY as much as her snarky ass response. IMO – either don’t reply or do something to fix it. I wouldn’t be offended if she ignored the post entirely..
